By Dikachi Franklin, in Owerri

In the hospitality and leisure industry, Vintage Resorts and Recreations is a name now on the lips of every grown up in Rivers State, especially those who know the value and essence of easing oneself after much mental and physical work.

It is located along Ahoada Road, Elele Town, in Rivers State and is about 20 minutes’ drive from the Port Harcourt Airport at Omagwa, and about 25 minutes’ drive from Owerri, capital of Imo State.

Elele appears to be unique among the towns in Rivers State because of its serenity, proximity to Owerri, well known as the hub of hospitality in the South-east and South-south. Elele Town is also the food basket of Rivers State and one of its fastest growing towns with influx of traders, public servants and a host of workers of some construction firms.

So, the establishment of leisure outfits like Vintage Resorts and Recreations has added to make Elele a thriving and bubbling town, where night life is thick.

So the advantages provided by Elele town seem to be a catalyst to the thriving and blossoming Vintage Resorts and Recreations.

The resorts and recreations are an arm of Vintage Group of Companies, which is departmentalized and includes a guest house, hotels, recreations outdoor catering and hospitality consultancy services.

Mike Elechi, the chairman of Vintage Group of Companies, who spoke to business a.m. explains the reasons why Vintage Resorts and Recreations continues to take a leading rôle amongst its peers in Rivers State.

“We provide comfortable, clean and fun facilities for family vacations, and reunion parties, corporate retreats, weddings, conference facilities for local and international visitors etc,” said Elechi, who is also the chairman,Agric Group of the National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the first vice president of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA).

According to him, Vintage Resorts offers sporting facilities including, swimming pool, fitness centre, lawn tennis court, volleyball court, as well as an ultramodern hut for outdoor relaxation.

Also available are wine and dine facilities facing its farm resort in the premises, break-fast, lunch and dinner, including homestead bar and lounge, which also has a tea and coffee service. There is also a snacks bar.

He disclosed further that the outfit has various luxurious accommodation units with scenic views which are furnished to international standards.  These are all en-suite, comprising of governor’s lodge, executive suites, standard suites and single rooms.

In-room services and facilities include mini-bar fridge, intercoms, internet facility, and colour television, with DSTV satellite channels.

Elechi said each villa has its own private car park, en-suite open air bathroom and a balcony that overlooks a vegetable and fruits farm.

He urged,”take advantage of our uninterrupted 24 hours power supply, three large open air parking spaces and tight security to give yourself or your guest an occasion the comfort you deserve”.
