What’s your own scorecard of Tinubu’s year in office?

Watch this. Without any connection whatsoever to the government of the Federal Republic and with no contract of any kind awarded to one’s name nor affiliation to anyone in power, yours truly has done well for himself since the former President relocated his address to Daura in Katsina State.

One’s thinking is that he definitely won’t be a loner. There’ll definitely be several other fellow Nigerians who will equally be thanking God for how far they’ve come as well. Hope you’re following the drift?

By the way, as I started the crafting of this piece while working offsite at a doctor’s surgery in West London on the sunny morning of Wednesday, May 29th, our head of the table, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration became a year old. Here’s wishing the President and his team a very successful tenure for the remaining three years.

But here’s the thing. Both prior to this anniversary and in the immediate aftermath, there has rightly been a lot of scrutiny and evaluation of what his performance has been in the past year. There’s actually nothing wrong in wanting to know what he has done for the country in the one year that he’s been residing at the Villa.

However, it would be an unforced error to not evaluate your own personal finance scorecard. Yeah! You owe that to yourself to do a critique of your own performance.

Take it from here, it doesn’t take a genius to be a critic of someone else and of the administration. But please, make no mistake about it, don’t forget to beam the searchlight on your own doorstep as well.

Just as the Tinubu administration has been checked out in the various sectors such as aviation, education, power and security, please do yourself a favour by checking out the various areas of your personal finance.

Have you been living on a salary advance and have you been topping up your savings? Irrespective of what your performance was in the first year of this administration, be determined to do better between now and the second year anniversary.

Come May 29, 2025, yours truly wants to be reading your messages that you’ve done well for your very self, too.
