WiSolar, a South Africa-based renewable energy company, has announced the launch of WiGo, its hybrid prepaid solar electricity platform designed for Nigerian and South African users.

WiGo is a hybrid prepaid solar electricity app for WiSolar, a green digital utility, simplifying the delivery of solar electricity and making clean electricity easily accessible and as commonplace as home WiFi.

With WiGo, users will be able to register and sign in to buy prepaid solar electricity tokens or even recharge remotely, view electricity top-up history, and view solar performance from anywhere on the mobile app.

The company also offers Interested individuals and companies a unique opportunity to become partner merchants and earn commissions on packages sold, while partner installers, on the other hand, earn on installations and maintenance. In addition, these individuals and companies can view orders and easily withdraw commissions from their wallets straight to their bank accounts.

Wigo also enables partner developers and property owners to view customers, earn commissions on prepaid tariffs, and determine prepaid tariffs for tenant solar usage. Developers and property owners also get improved cash flow by having electricity used through the prepaid metre paid back to the owner.

Speaking on the launch,Tonye Irims, founder and CEO of WiSolar, said the creation of the mobile app is in furtherance of the company’s commitment and drive to democratise the delivery of solar electricity.

“One of our commitments as a tech company and startup is the goal to ensure that we contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and to contribute in our own little way to empowering solar electricity users and bringing the same closer to people across Africa,” the Nigeria-born entrepreneur added.

WiSolar’s WiGo app is currently available for download on both the Android and iOS app stores.
