Welcomed by Yutong’s Nigeria representatives and technical experts, the Minister was taken through a detailed demonstration of the array of 10 meter and 7 meter CNG buses as well the diesel variants, highlighting their reduced emissions, fuel economy advantages, passenger comfort features, and suitability for urban and long-distance operations.

According to Abbas Audu, Technical Services Manager at Kojo Motors, the buses were designed with Nigeria’s operating environment in mind, offering high ground clearance, durable suspension systems, and telematics-enabled maintenance support.

He noted that, the CNG buses remain significantly cheaper to run than diesel models; an advantage that aligns with the Federal Government’s ongoing push for alternative fuel adoption.

In the submission of Abbas Audu, Kojo Motors is committed to fulfilling the presidential initiative under Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, ( Pi-CNG). In terms running cost efficiency. SEE TABLE BELOW AND CNG COMPARATIVE
ADVANTAGES:
Total standard cubic meter (SCM) of CNG consumed by the yutong 7meter D7, 28 seater coach locally assembled in Anambra to Abuja is 135.3 SCM that’s approximately N60,084.5 and still having enough CNG left to power to vehicle for another 280km in comparison the diesel model will consume approximately 300 litres of diesel which about N315,000. The CNG cheaper and saves cost

Total standard cubic meter (SCM) of CNG consumed by the yutong 10meter 40 seater city bus locally assembled in Anambra to Abuja is 227.44 SCM that’s approximately N101,504.8 and still having enough CNG left to power to vehicle for another 280km the diesel model will consume approximately 450 litres which is about N472,500.

Total standard cubic meter (SCM) of CNG consumed by the OMAA H6 CNG 13 seater bus locally assembled in Anambra to Abuja is 62.82 SCM which is N27,672.00 . driving with petrol would cost over N150,000. CNG is cheaper and cost effective.
