PalmPay launches ‘PalmPay Dey For You’ with new security features

PalmPay has launched a new customer-focused campaign, ‘PalmPay Dey For You,’ as concerns around the safety, reliability and stability of financial service providers continue to shape consumer conversations in Nigeria’s increasingly digital banking market.

The campaign is designed to reinforce PalmPay’s commitment to secure and accessible financial services while helping customers better understand the security features available to protect their accounts and transactions.

PalmPay said it is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), while eligible customer deposits are insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).

With millions of Nigerians using PalmPay for transfers, bill payments, savings and other financial services, the fintech is placing customer trust and account security at the centre of its latest engagement strategy.

The company’s message is that digital banking convenience must be matched by confidence in the safety of customers’ funds and transactions, supported by regulatory oversight and built-in protection mechanisms.

Beyond reassurance, the campaign is designed to encourage users to take greater responsibility for their digital security by actively deploying the tools available on the platform.

PalmPay’s Security Center serves as the main access point, bringing together security features intended to give customers greater control over their accounts and transaction activity.

One of the features highlighted by the company is Location Guard, which allows customers to designate up to six trusted locations and provides an additional layer of protection against suspicious activity originating from unexpected locations.

The fintech said the feature is intended to give users greater control over account access at a time when account compromise remains a concern across digital financial services.

Customers can also activate NightGuard, which provides additional protection during selected periods, while other in-app security tools allow users to review and strengthen their account security settings.

PalmPay has also introduced quick-response options for customers who lose access to their phones or cards.

Users can lock their PalmPay accounts by dialling *861*12#, while cards can be locked using *861*7*5#.

The company has further strengthened its dispute-management process through a dedicated Dispute Page, which enables customers to submit and monitor transaction disputes directly within the application.

Chika Nwosu, managing director, PalmPay Nigeria, said trust remains fundamental to financial services and that customers need confidence in the institutions handling their money.

“Trust is fundamental to banking. Customers need to know that the institution they rely on is regulated, secure, dependable, and available when they need it,” Nwosu said.

He said customer protection and greater control over the banking experience remain central to PalmPay’s operations.

“‘PalmPay Dey For You’ reinforces that commitment. We want customers to understand the security tools available to them, use those tools confidently, and know that PalmPay remains a reliable financial partner for their everyday needs,” he added.

PalmPay Group, founded in 2019 and headquartered in Hong Kong, operates as a multinational fintech company providing digital financial services in emerging markets across Africa and Asia.

Its services include payments, savings, insurance, credit and payment acceptance tools for individuals and businesses, with a particular focus on financially underserved populations.

The group also finances smartphones in markets where device ownership remains a barrier to digital financial inclusion, enabling some customers to obtain both a smartphone and access to a formal financial account.

PalmPay Group said its work has received recognition from international media and financial institutions, including TIME, the Financial Times and CNBC, while its financial inclusion efforts have also received acknowledgement from central bank regulators in its core markets.

In Nigeria, however, the next phase of competition in digital financial services is increasingly likely to be shaped not only by customer acquisition and transaction volumes, but also by the ability of providers to demonstrate resilience, regulatory compliance and effective consumer protection.

Against that backdrop, PalmPay’s latest campaign places customer trust and security at the centre of its effort to deepen engagement with its expanding user base.
