Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s vice president said that Africa needs reasonable trade policies with Europe to solve the unemployment challenge in the continent.

Osinbajo speaking on a panel on Migration issues at the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, according to Laolu Akande, his senior special assistant on media and publicity, said, “rather than another Marshal plan, Africa will rather appreciate reasonable trade policies with Europe, policies that create jobs in Africa.”

Other panelists with the VP include PM Gentiloni of Italy and Greece PM Tsippras.

Earlier, it was reported that Yemi Osinbajo is leading Nigerian delegation to Davos, Switzerland for the 48th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting which kicked off Tuesday 23rd January, to end Friday, 26.

The theme of this year’s edition of the WEF is “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World”, with emphasis on finding ways to reaffirm international cooperation on shared interests on matters such as the global economy, international security, and the environment.

The Nigerian delegation at the World Economic Forum, according to Laolu Akande include the Okey Enelamah, minister of Industry, trade, and investment, and Adeyemi Dipeolu, the special adviser on economic matters to the President.

“From Davos, the Vice President will depart for the United Kingdom by the weekend where he will deliver the keynote address at the Warwick Africa Summit, which will focus on exploring the potential of the continent’s overall development.
