Nigerians are resilient to better their lot through voting despite the postponement of the general elections which was earlier scheduled to hold on 16th February.
As early as 6 a.m. people were at the polling units getting  ready to cast their vote.
The election process in Plateau State was generally peaceful even though some polling units experienced late arrival of officials, materials, or incomplete ballot papers.
Other challenges were people finding it difficult to locate their polling units as they were to vote in a polling unit different from where they voted in 2015.
There were logistic challenges in Ladura Du polling unit as INEC officials arrived late. Election materials arrived late in most polling unit in Jos South. In Fah Loh at Ekan Primary School, as at 10:15 a.m. electoral materials were yet to arrive.
There was shortage of staff in Rawuru polling unit in Barkin Ladi and people who were not initially picked for the exercise but went through the training had to replace officials who did not turn up this morning.
At 081 polling unit in Etobaba, there were 591 registered voters but only 500 ballot papers were made available. Consequently youths in the area refused the commencement of the election process as they demanded the remaining 91 ballot papers be provided.
Istafanus Gyang, who is contesting for the Plateau North Senatorial seat appreciated the willingness of Nigerians to vote as he stated that,” there is a tremendous enthusiasm by Nigerians to come out and exercise their franchise “.
Gyang who said he has been receiving calls on card reader failure and other lapses of which he alerted INEC said: ” Today the will of the people will make manifest. Any attempt to subvert the people will be massively resisted “.
