China’s biggest e-commerce trade platform, Alibaba has provided a platform for Rwanda’s local businesses like Gorilla’s Coffee to get its product to millions of Chinese consumers.
The e-commerce giant, which is worth over $13.9 billion and 654 annual active users is giving an opportunity to local Rwandan businesses to boost their sales and extend their markets to other territories outside Africa.
Gorilla’s Coffee is known for its quality coffee produce in the country with different levels of finished coffee products ranging from dark roasted, light roasted and medium roasted coffee to consumers’ taste.
Benjamin Nkurunzuma, sales and marketing manager, Rwanda Farms Coffee Co., said, “China is the most populated country in the world, gaining the China market is a huge opportunity for us”.
This partnership has made selling coffee to Chinese consumers easier but physically getting it to customers is still a challenge especially from a country Rwanda filled with land in getting their products to Guangzhou, China.
Gorilla’s Coffee produces up to 3 tons of coffee per day with its supplies to international hotels expects to branch out into more international markets in order to provide sublime Rwandan Coffee to the world.
