Stjepan Udovicic, an experienced business growth executive, has been named as the new 9mobile chief commercial officer, Business A.M can confirm.

The new CCO was appointed by the board of Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services Limited, which trades as 9mobile, the company said in a statement made available to Business A.M.

Udovicic’s main focus at 9mobile will be to lead the marketing, products, sales, distribution, customer services, as well as digital front-ends, the company said, adding that he is also expected to head brand development and evolution as 9mobile looks to revamp and expand for growth.

Udovicic is not a stranger to international markets as he has garnered vast experience serving in a wide range of markets across Europe, Asia and the USA. He is especially adept in the telecom, content and media industries and also understands technology environments as well as business models.

Udovicic is experienced in driving growth across all market segments and brings onboard his competence and excellent grasp of general B2B and B2C businesses across industries

He arrives 9mobile from the Axiata Group Berhad and its operating company in Cambodia where he oversaw a large and successful commercial team.

Prior to joining Axiata Group, Udovicic was the marketing director at Orange Romania for three and half years, where he was in charge of digital, brand, products and services, as well as branding. In that capacity, he spearheaded a complete brand renewal while launching several innovative products and services.

He also had a stint with Etisalat, serving as customer experience director across Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Reacting to the development, 9mobile’s CEO, Alan Sinfield noted that the telecom firm was elated to bring Udovicic in, hailing his vast experience as integral.

“Stjepan is a thoroughbred professional with a can-do spirit which is at the core of who we are at 9mobile. We are an adventurous brand, always pushing the limits of innovation, so Stjepan has come right into his home. I am confident he will play a significant role in further strengthening 9mobile’s market position in Nigeria’s competitive telecommunications industry,” Sinfield said.

Udovicic said he was “delighted to join 9mobile as the CCO,” adding that he looks forward to drawing from his expertise to help drive the access to top-notch products and services for telecoms subscribers in Nigeria.
