Stock market sustains positive trend with market capitalisation up N441bn

The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed trading activities on Thursday on a positive note as market capitalisation increased by N441 billion to close at N29,642 trillion.
The All-Share-Index (ASI) appreciated by 1.50 per cent to close at 54,413.21 points.
A total of 973.6 million units of shares were traded in 3,718 deals, valued at N4.22 billion.

Meanwhile, market breadth closed positive as OANDO led 23 gainers against 10 losers led by PZ.
OANDO recorded 9.98 per cent increase to close at N5.40; SUNUASSUR was up 9.09 per cent to close N0.48; MTNN appreciated 8.89 per cent to close at N240.00; CHIPLC gained 8.77 per cent to close at N0.62; while ROYALEX was up 8.70 per cent to close at N0.75.
However, PZ topped the losers chart as it shed 5.88 per cent of its share prices to close at N11.20; CHAMS was down 4.17 per cent to close at N0.23; UNILEVER lost 57 per cent to close at N13.50; JAPAULGOLD was down 3.45 per cent to close at N0.28; while AIICO lost 3.33 per cent to close at N0.58.
At the end of trading activities on Thursday, the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns settled at 5.46 per cent, while the stock market advanced by 2,817.55 basis points.
