By Cynthia Ezekwe.

Oluropo Dada, the managing director, Network Capital, a stockbroking and investment services firm, has encouraged Nigerian students to cultivate the habit of savings in order to create wealth through investment in shares and other securities .

The fellow of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) stated this recently  at the  12th valedictory service/graduation ceremony and prize giving day of Sofunix International Schools  at Iroko town, Ogun, noting that every potential investor should cultivate a savings habit.

Dada, who was represented by Olasunkanmi Oladele, stressed  that parents should take advantage of an array of investment opportunities in the Nigerian capital market while both parents and children  desired financial literacy to enhance their investment drive. He also  appealed to the parents to create wealth through investment in order to meet their respective obligations.

Wole Ayobade, deputy editor, The Guardian, and guest speaker, while  speaking on the theme: “Nurturing Future Leaders”,  advised  parents to pay more attention to the learning processes of their children as the future leaders, adding  that every serious student should aim at becoming a global player.

Also speaking at the event, Olufunke Oni, the Proprietress of Sofunix International Schools,  admonished the graduating students to build on the strong academic and moral foundation of the school and always remember that as future leaders, they represent an institution.

“We have trained you to imbibe the culture of hard work and perseverance. Your seniors are making us proud in Nigeria and abroad. I want you to follow this tradition. Play a pivotal role in the college alumni association and be role models to your junior students,’’ she added.

On his part,  Olusola Oni,  the proprietor and chairman of  the school, appreciated the parents for the confidence reposed in the school and congratulated the graduating students and pupils for passing through the three domains of education – cognitive, affective and psychomotor.

Oni also called on the government to create an enabling environment for private schools to thrive in Nigeria.
