Nestlé Nigeria, one of the country’s leading food and beverage companies, was recently honoured at the 17th annual Sustainability, Enterprise and Responsibility Awards (SERAS) Awards for its outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance. The awards ceremony was held at the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, and celebrated businesses and organisations that have made a positive impact on society and the environment.

The SERAS CSR Awards seek to promote best practices in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility in Africa, with the ultimate goal of helping the continent achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The awards recognise and celebrate the efforts of businesses, governments, and NGOs that are working towards these goals, and provide a platform for them to share their experiences and learn from each other.

The selection process for the SERAS Awards involved a panel of nine independent expert judges from around the world. These judges assess best practices and impact, ensuring that only the most deserving companies are recognised.

Nestlé Nigeria had a successful showing at the event, winning three awards: Best Company in Rural Population Integration, Best Company in Food Security, and 2nd Runner-up for Most Responsible Organisation in Africa. These awards highlight the company’s commitment to making a positive impact in rural communities, ensuring food security, and acting responsibly as an organisation.

In a statement, Wassim Elhusseini, MD/CEO of Nestlé Nigeria, said that the company is proud to be recognised for its exceptional performance, and remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of corporate excellence and best practices in the industry.”

“We remain dedicated to upholding the highest  standards of corporate excellence and best practices within our Industry,” Elhusseini said.
