Get yourself ready for September FGN Savings Bond

Two months ago and in fact, as of the tenth of July, not many people have heard the name Josimar Dias. I never knew he existed either. But unknown to us, the 40-year old was preparing for the opportunity that was just a few days away from him.

Folks, another opportunity to start your investment journey is less than a month away and it’s going to be made available to you in September. That’s when the Debt Management Office, DMO, will make the Federal Government’s September Savings Bond open. Now, back to the story of Dias.

Yours truly was watching CNN global sports on Wednesday night when the story of the inspirational Cape Verde goalkeeper was featured. That’s Dias, known globally by his nickname, Vozinha. His was a classical case of a man who prepared for the opportunity that the World Cup had to offer. He grabbed it at the football old age of forty.

In our context, we may never get to play at the World Cup, but the opportunity that’s coming our way next month is the federal government’s savings bond for September. So, let the story of Vozinha inspire us all. He prepared, so let’s get ready for it.

As the minimum amount is only five thousand naira, there’s more than enough time for us all to start gathering the money.

Cash is still King: While on the road on the last Friday of July, I needed cash badly in order to take care of something. AI couldn’t help.

It took nearly five minutes to locate one at Romford Station. If it were technology, I would have just punched my phone. It probably goes to show that cash is still KING! Even in this age of AI.
