Heirs Insurance Group (HIG), Nigeria’s fastest-growing insurance group, has announced the debut edition of the Heirs Insurance Travel Festival, a groundbreaking celebration of global travel, culture, and connection designed to position Africa at the heart of inclusive tourism.

The festival, which is scheduled to hold on November 29, 2025, in Lagos, is set to convene thousands of participants across the continent  including embassy representatives, travel ecosystem stakeholders, content creators, tourism professionals, and travel enthusiasts for what the organisers describe as a “first-of-its-kind immersive experience” celebrating cross-border travel and cultural exchange.

According to a statement from the company, the Heirs Insurance Travel Festival will serve as a dynamic meeting point for Africa’s growing travel and tourism ecosystem, designed to foster collaboration, ignite cultural dialogue, and celebrate the continent’s expanding global presence in the travel industry.

Held under the theme “Promoting Cultural Diversity and an Inclusive Travel Ecosystem,” the festival will feature high-level diplomatic dialogues, fireside chats with renowned African travel creators, and panel discussions that explore how travel can bridge cultural gaps and build a more connected world.

One of the key highlights, a thought-provoking session titled “Passport Power and Possibilities: Rethinking Travel Policies to Remove Mobility Barriers for Africans,” will examine how policy reforms and travel insurance solutions can help address mobility challenges that limit African travellers’ access to global opportunities.

Beyond discussions, attendees will be treated to an all-encompassing festival atmosphere featuring live performances, cultural showcases, interactive games, and an open marketplace that blends food, lifestyle, tourism, and entertainment.

The event promises to deliver an unforgettable experience where the sights, sounds, and tastes of the world converge,  a symbolic reflection of Heirs Insurance Group’s mission to bring the world “closer to home.”

Speaking about the vision behind the festival, Ifesinachi Okpagu, chief marketing officer of Heirs Insurance Group, said the initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to building bridges across cultures and promoting travel as a force for discovery and connection.

“Travel is about discovery, exposure, and connection. The world is more connected than ever, yet with rising border restrictions, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to explore new possibilities. The Heirs Insurance Travel Festival creates a platform to address these barriers, showing how insurance can enable safer, more inclusive travel. We are championing a borderless world — one that allows people to connect responsibly, regardless of geography,” Okpagu said.

She added that the company sees insurance not just as a tool for financial protection but as a catalyst for opportunity — an essential enabler in helping individuals explore new frontiers confidently and securely.

Registration for the Heirs Insurance Travel Festival is now open, with free passes available on the company’s official website. The event is expected to attract participants from across Africa and beyond, reflecting Heirs Insurance Group’s growing influence in redefining how Africans experience travel.

Heirs Insurance Group is the insurance subsidiary of Heirs Holdings, the leading pan-African investment company with operations spanning 24 countries and four continents. The Group comprises Heirs General Insurance Limited, Heirs Life Assurance Limited, and Heirs Insurance Brokers, offering comprehensive protection solutions for both individual and corporate clients.

With its fast-growing retail presence and strong digital infrastructure, Heirs Insurance Group continues to push the boundaries of financial inclusion and digital transformation within Nigeria’s insurance industry.
