Igboebinie Plc inaugural AGM to set new economic development agenda for South-East, South-South

Igboebinie Plc is set to convene its inaugural Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together shareholders, investors, business leaders, professionals and other stakeholders for discussions on investment, industrialisation, infrastructure and economic development across the South-East and South-South regions of Nigeria.

The meeting will provide a platform for discussions on the role of indigenous and diaspora capital in supporting economic development across the region with the aim of creating opportunities for professionals, investors and other stakeholders to consider how expertise, capital and strategic partnerships can contribute to practical development opportunities in the South-East and South-South.

The AGM represents an important stage for Igboebinie Plc, an indigenous economic and investment organisation established around the philosophy of Akụlụọnọ, meaning bringing wealth home. Its stated vision is to harness the collective economic strength, entrepreneurial capacity and investment potential of Ndi Igbo at home and in the diaspora towards supporting sustainable enterprises, infrastructure, industries and long-term wealth creation.

According to the AGM Planning Committee, the gathering is intended to bring together people with relevant experience, resources and expertise to discuss economic opportunities, development priorities and the structures required to support investment and enterprise across the region.

IkeChukwu Unegbe, the chairman of the AGM Planning Committee, said the meeting would provide an opportunity for professionals, investors, business leaders and stakeholders to exchange ideas and contribute to a practical economic development agenda.

“This inaugural AGM is more than a corporate gathering. It is an opportunity for professionals, investors, business leaders and stakeholders to come together, exchange ideas and contribute to a practical economic development agenda for our people and our region,” he said.

Igboebinie Plc has outlined development plans covering areas such as smart cities, industrial and commercial hubs, housing, agriculture, technology and education. Among the concepts identified are the proposed Igboebinie World Trade City, a mixed-use industrial and commercial development, as well as the proposed Igboebinie Tower.

Diaspora participation is also identified as part of the development strategy, with a focus on creating opportunities for Ndi Igbo outside Nigeria to participate in projects and investment activities in the region. The AGM is expected to provide an avenue for further discussions around the mobilisation of capital, expertise and partnerships towards these areas.

The meeting comes as stakeholders across the South-East and South-South continue to consider approaches to infrastructure, employment, industrialisation and private-sector development. Discussions are expected to examine how indigenous capital and diaspora resources, alongside professional expertise and institutional investment, can contribute to sustainable economic activity in the region.
