Legend Internet, Trojan Estates pioneer room-level fibre in Royal Gardens

Business a.m.

Legend Internet Plc and Trojan Estates have joined forces to roll out Fibre-To-The-Room (FTTR) technology across Royal Gardens Estate, making it the continent’s first fully FTTR-enabled residential community, a development set to redefine luxury living and digital infrastructure across Africa,

The launch, marked by a high-profile ceremony in Lagos, brings together executives from both firms and underscores the growing convergence of real estate and digital innovation.

The partnership will see Legend Internet’s flagship connectivity solution, Legend Omni, installed directly into every room in Royal Gardens Estate. Unlike traditional fibre-to-the-home setups, FTTR eliminates connectivity dead zones, ensuring seamless high-speed internet throughout the estate. For residents, this means uninterrupted access for smart-home devices, streaming, remote work, and other data-intensive applications, effectively future-proofing the community for the demands of digital living.

“This initiative represents a significant leap for Africa’s digital ecosystem. Royal Gardens Estate sets a benchmark for what modern luxury living should be: smart, seamless, and designed for the connected lifestyle. FTTR is more than a connectivity upgrade, it is a new standard for premium living,” said Aisha Abdulaziz, CEO of Legend Internet Plc.

From an investment perspective, the deployment of FTTR signals a shift in how residential properties are valued. As consumer expectations increasingly tilt toward integrated digital experiences, properties equipped with advanced connectivity solutions stand to attract both premium buyers and long-term investors. Analysts note that such infrastructure upgrades can enhance property desirability, boost resale value, and strengthen the overall market appeal of digitally optimized estates.

Kunle Tinubu, managing director and CEO of Trojan Estates, highlighted the long-term vision behind the project. “Royal Gardens Estate becomes the first in Africa to deploy Legend Omni’s FTTR technology. This is the fruition of Trojan Estates’ 20-year commitment to building enduring value. We are not just defining luxury; we are securing a world-class living experience for our residents while reinforcing the legacy of our developments,” he said.

The rollout also positions Lagos as a testing ground for next-generation smart residential ecosystems. With support from Huawei Technologies, which provides the underlying FTTR architecture, the Royal Gardens is projected to serve as a model for other urban developments across Nigeria and the African market in general.
