Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Ltd., a leading manufacturer of consumer packaged goods, was honoured for its innovation and operational excellence at this year’s ECOWAS Manufacturing Excellence Awards (EMEA) organised by Independent Newspapers, BusinessDay-Ghana, and African Consolidated Analytical Limited.

NBC won honours in three important categories at the awards ceremony, which took place in Lagos recently, consolidating its strong credentials as a champion of sustainable manufacturing in Nigeria.

The yearly award, according to the organizers, is intended to honour outstanding individuals and companies in the manufacturing sector that have displayed innovation excellence throughout their operations and have made noteworthy contributions to the expansion of the local economy.

NBC emerged winner across three important categories—ECOWAS Energy Drinks Manufacturing Company of the Year; Juice/Beverage Drinks Manufacturing Company of the Year; and ECOWAS Soft Drinks Manufacturing Company of the Year.

Ekuma Eze, corporate affairs & sustainability director of NBC, expressed delight at the recognition, reiterating the company’s commitment to advocating innovative and sustainable practices in the sector.

“As a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, the awards are a testament to our revolutionary work and our leadership, particularly in the areas of product innovation, and investment in the development of infrastructure to create shared value for our stakeholders and communities,” Eze said.

“Despite the challenges posed by the current business climate, it remains our goal to continue to contribute immensely to the growth of the Nigerian economy and uplift the livelihood of its people, thus we are grateful to the conveners for this recognition.”

Since inception, the ECOWAS Manufacturing Excellence Awards has chosen nominees using a combination of qualitative and quantitative criteria, and it has developed into one of the most recognized awards in the manufacturing sector across the West-African subregion bringing reputable firms together.
