A request by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) for the overhaul and modernisation of the communication architecture of the country’s airspace has been acceded to by the federal government.

Also, in the wake of the inauguration of newly appointed chief executives and directors of aviation agencies, Ahmed Umar Farouk, managing director of NAMA, has highlighted the pivotal role of performance bonds in advancing the aviation sector.

Farouk made this disclosure during the in-house induction for the newly appointed chief executive officers and directors of aviation agencies held in Abuja.

He pledged NAMA’s dedication to surpassing expectations, tackling challenges, and aligning with Minister Keyamo and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative and agenda.

He also accentuated NAMA’s commitment to enhancing communication in Nigerian airspace as he declared an emergency on power challenges, emphasising that the agency had secured immediate government approval for the overhaul and modernization of the country’s airspace communication architecture.

Farouk reassured the public of NAMA’s unwavering commitment to optimal performance, with a focus on benefiting the Nigerian community.

He stated: “The communication architecture of Nigerian airspace is now broadened, addressing issues that were prevalent before. We are dedicated to ensuring seamless communication between pilots and air traffic controllers.”
