PZ Cussons, PalmPay launch  N100m consumer rewards drive in Nigeria

Business a.m.

Premier Cool, Nigeria’s leading antibacterial cooling bar soap brand owned by PZ Cussons, has launched a nationwide consumer promotion in partnership with PalmPay, a prominent digital banking platform, showcasing the growing relationship between fast-moving consumer goods and financial services in Africa’s fourth largest economy.

The campaign, branded “10K for 10K”, will distribute N100 million in cash rewards to consumers over a three-month period. Running from January 12 to April 11, 2026, the promotion is structured to reward 10,000 participants with N10,000 each, paid instantly into PalmPay wallets. A total of 111 winners are expected to emerge daily throughout the campaign.

L-R: Femi Hanson, head, marketing & communication, PalmPay Nigeria; Austyne Umeh, head, digital & IT Africa, PZ Cussons; Chika Nwosu, MD, PalmPay Nigeria; Oghale Elueni, MD, PZ Cussons Africa; Martha Kayode, head of marketing, PZ Cussons; Kowontan Habib, head, wallets & wealth business, PalmPay and Dedun Ezichi, head of category, personal hygiene, PZ Cussons at the launch of the Premier Cool 10k for 10k promo in Lagos

Oghale Elueni, PZ Cussons Africa’s managing director, said the initiative was designed to respond to mounting cost-of-living pressures faced by Nigerian households. He described the promotion as an effort to ease the load and refresh Nigerians, emotionally and financially, while strengthening engagement with a long-established household brand.

Participation mechanics are deliberately simple. Consumers are required to purchase a promotional 110g pack of Premier Cool (Ultimate or Black variants), scan a QR code on the packaging and enter a unique code via the PalmPay platform to access an instant draw.

PalmPay is also using the campaign to drive customer acquisition. New users who join through the promotion are eligible for a welcome bonus of up to N5,550, reinforcing the company’s strategy of embedding financial incentives within everyday consumer behaviour.

Chika Nwosu, managing director of PalmPay Nigeria, said the partnership reflects the company’s focus on “real, everyday value”, adding that alignment with a legacy consumer brand supports PalmPay’s ambition to position itself as a provider of practical, lifestyle-oriented digital banking services.

Premier Cool stated that the promotion is positioned as a loyalty play. Backed by decades of heritage under PZ Cussons, the brand continues to emphasise reliability, family wellbeing and consistent quality as key pillars in a highly competitive personal care market.
