The Macallan, the world-renowned single-malt Scotch whisky, brought its Timeless Collection to Abuja on April 24, 2026, marking the next chapter of its landmark packaging redesign. The event introduced the brand’s striking new visual identity for the Double Cask and Sherry Oak Collections to Abuja’s most discerning tastemakers, bringing together guests for an intimate evening that celebrated the craftsmanship, legacy and progressive spirit that have long defined The Macallan.
Following a successful debut in Lagos, the Abuja edition of the Timeless Collection launch drew key personalities, including music executive and culture advocate Audu Maikori , Princess Jecoco, lifestyle personality Tutupie Skari ,Andy Madaki , Lydia Gana and Obinna Osisiogu, further cementing the brand’s growing presence among Nigeria’s luxury audience.
The Timeless Collection redesign is the result of a considered creative collaboration with celebrated graphic designer David Carson, a long-time partner of The Macallan. The new bottle silhouette draws inspiration from the sweeping roof of the Highland distillery, while a triangular shoulder label pays homage to Spain’s renowned Sherry Triangle. New cask symbols on the rear labels clearly and elegantly communicate the role of both American and European oak in shaping the whisky’s character, a visual language that draws a stronger connection between the liquid, its origins and the estate where it matures.
Critically, while the bottles have been transformed, the whisky inside remains entirely unchanged. The Abuja evening was thoughtfully curated to honour both the artistry of The Macallan and the sophistication of its guests. A live string quartet set an atmosphere of refined elegance from the moment guests arrived, before Brand Ambassador Yinka Adepetu guided the room through the brand’s rich heritage and craftsmanship story. Guests then embarked on an immersive dining journey, with three courses each paired with expressions from the Double Cask Collection, the 12, 15 and 18 Year Old, illuminating how the marriage of American and European oak produces flavours ranging from honey, vanilla and cinnamon to dark chocolate and dried dates.
The evening culminated in a captivating live performance by celebrated artist Femi Leye, whose artistry and energy provided a fitting tribute to a night of exceptional craft. Reflecting on the significance of the Abuja launch, Hammed Adebiyi, Senior Brand Manager, West and Central Africa at Edrington, said: “The Timeless Collection launch is an exciting moment for The Macallan in Nigeria. It reflects our commitment to evolving thoughtfully while staying true to the heritage and craftsmanship that define the brand. For consumers, trade partners, and whisky enthusiasts, the new visual identity offers a clearer, more engaging way to experience the portfolio, without altering the exceptional whisky they have come to know and trust.”
