Q1 numbers stave off H1’21 gloom for AXA Mansard with N2.3bn PAT

AXA Mansard Insurance Plc, has declared a final dividend of 45 kobo per ordinary share of N2.00, amounting to a total payout of N4.05 billion for the 2024 financial year.

This final dividend is designated for shareholders whose names appear in the company’s Register of Members by the close of business on June 25, 2025.

The company made the announcement through a corporate disclosure filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), noting that qualified shareholders will receive their payments electronically on July 10, 2025. It noted that the disbursement will be facilitated by the company’s registrar, Datamax Registrars Limited.

“Dividends will be paid electronically to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members as of June 25, 2025,” the company reaffirmed in the statement.

AXA Mansard also urged its investors to complete their e-dividend registration to ensure seamless access to future entitlements. In the same notice, the insurer disclosed that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) has been scheduled to hold on the same day dividends are paid—July 10, 2025.

The dividend declaration comes on the back of a strong financial performance for the year ended December 31, 2024. AXA Mansard posted a pre-tax profit of N31.6 billion, more than doubling the N15.7 billion recorded in the previous year—an impressive 100.94 per cent increase.

The group’s retained earnings rose to N33.9 billion, up from N14.3 billion in 2023, reinforcing the insurer’s improved profitability and earnings strength.

Total insurance revenue surged to N131.6 billion during the review period, reflecting a 59.11 per cent increase from the N82.7 billion reported in 2023. Health insurance remained the company’s leading revenue source, contributing N47.2 billion. This was closely followed by the oil and gas segment, which generated N37.4 billion.

The company also recorded N12.7 billion from its savings portfolio and N12.6 billion from fire insurance, with other product lines making up the balance.

Looking ahead, AXA Mansard projects insurance revenue of N86.78 billion for the second quarter of 2025, according to an earnings forecast submitted to the NGX.
