Revealed! Nigeria among countries most sceptical about 5G technology

Nigeria is ranked among the countries most sceptical about the safety or not of the 5G technology, despite its core benefit of super-fast low latency internet, a discovery from online analytics has revealed.
The 5G is one of the pinnacle new technologies that are set to revolutionise everyday life. But despite this, many are still cynical about the technology.
Prolifics Testing conducted a thorough research into the online searches surrounding the 5G topic within different countries around the world, the result of which was made available to Business A.M., indicates that 5G seems to be coming to every town and city at a very fast rate, but with this rapid growth comes worries and misunderstandings for some individuals.
The results revealed that Nigeria ranks 13th, as there are 6,850 online searches a month by Nigerians concerning the possible negative implications of 5G technology.
The United States of America (USA) surprisingly is the most sceptical country in the world about 5G, with average 374,700 tentative online searches about 5G technology per month. A total of 155 countries from six continents were assessed in the online searches about 5G.
The UK, America’s most prominent ally in international affairs in history, is the second most sceptical country in the world about 5G, with 93,400 searches about the topic.
Australia is in third position with 32,970. These are among the other countries where there are over 30,000 dubious online searches regarding 5G each month, Prolifics Testing stated in its research results.
Spots four, five and six went to Canada, Poland and Germany, with each country researching 22,680; 20,510 and 17,550 times, respectively, about 5G. The Netherlands is in the seventh place, as 16,520 incidences of residents searching the effects of 5G are recorded each month, on average. Denmark is in the 20th place, with the Nordic country making just 1,410 searches on average each month regarding 5G.
Meanwhile, residents in Austria and Mexico do not seem too worried about 5G either, with just 1,570 and 1,970 searches asking questions about 5G.
Prolifics Testing said it classified and grouped consistently recurring Google searches by individuals on 5G such as: ‘Is 5G dangerous?’, ‘is 5G safe?’, ‘is 5G harmful?’, ‘does 5G pose health risks?’ and ‘does 5G cause/spread coronavirus (Covid-19)?’ as sceptical online searches about 5G.
The Research
To find out the area most suspicious or confused about 5G, Prolifics Testing analysed online search data from Ahrefs and found out that the most common search terms are: “Is 5G Dangerous?”, “Does 5G have health risks?”, and “Does 5G spread coronavirus?”, despite widescale assurances by the World Health organization (WHO) that after carrying out extensive research, and concluding that “no adverse health effects had been established.”
“We then used Ahrefs to discover how many times each question was searched on average, each month in different areas to deduce which country is the most sceptical or curious about the new technology,” Prolifics Testing said.
Taking the analysis of the searches further, Prolifics Testing said it looked at the countries simply searching for the word ‘5G’ on Google; suspecting that users searching for the term will either be finding out more about the technology, learning about the benefits, or generally researching potential risks as a result of misinformation spread online.
The United State once again topped the list, as the number of its citizens searching for ‘5G’ came to 314,000 times per month on average. Poland is second, with 130,900 searches are made each month, on average – 183,100 less than the US. In third place is the United Kingdom, with 120,000 times per month, on average. Not as high as the USA, but still conveying an interest in wireless technology.
