JUST IN: Banks gave out N860bn loan in 11 months

Banks have given out N860 billion loan in 11 months to support economic growth and investments.

This disclosure was made at the end of Bankers’ Committee meeting in Abuja on Thursday.

Addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, Akin Daudu, managing director of Citi bank, stated that the banks performed the feat following the Central Bank’s directive that they increase their lending to deposit ratio to 60% by the end of September.

He said all banks did everything to increase the of lending to deposits.
